Lt. Governor Dan Patrick of the State of Texas said he doesn’t need Dr. Fauci’s advice any longer.

From Dallas Morning News Article:

“Patrick accused Fauci of being wrong “every time, on every issue,” but Patrick did not offer any evidence.”

Has Dr. Fauci been wrong on every issue? No. Has Dr. Fauci been right on every issue, No. But I am sure he is doing the best he can. No one is 100% perfect. This is a new strain of the Coronavirus that Scientists and Medical Experts keep learning about. They don’t know everything about the virus yet.

One thing that the facts do bear out, is that in states where cases are rising, (Texas, Arizona, California, and Florida), these states have not been right all the time either. And it’s not totally the state’s fault. I live in Texas, I go out, and people ignore guidelines set by grocery stores and other places of business, but it seems as though either people are ignorant of the fact that Texas keeps seeing record cases and hospitalizations of Covid-19, or they just don’t care about anyone but themselves.

Here was one woman’s response in a Dallas area grocery store when she was asked to wear a mask or leave. (And she had a mask in her hand).

I am 60 years old. I have had open heart surgery, I have an Aortic Aneurysm, and suffer from severe Asthma that has not been very well controlled. I am having my first appointment with a Pulmonologist next month via a virtual visit.

I always practice social distancing and follow the guidelines a place of business has set up. But when I see someone that is in my path not following those same guidelines, I first nicely point it out. It always doesn’t work. Many times I have had confrontations. In fact I just had one yesterday. I had my rescue inhaler with me, my pulse oximeter, (which shows oxygen saturation levels), and for the first time I lifted my shirt and showed this gentleman my scars. The reason I went to these lengths, is because he was black and called me a racist. I told him calmly, “Sir it has nothing to do with racism it has to do with this.”

At that point he said well then maybe you just need to stay at home. I responded, I shouldn’t have to because other people do not want to follow the guidelines of a business establishment to keep everyone safe and do its best from keeping the virus from spreading.

Have we turned into a selfish society? It seems so. By my experience almost no one cares about following the guidelines a place of business has set up.

I hope I am wrong and that is not the case. But Governor Patrick you need to listen to Dr. Fauci, and other medical experts because if you don’t Texas will continue to see record number of cases and hospitalizations.

And for everyone else for the safety of others please practice the guidelines your state has established or a place of business has established. You don’t own the store, you don’t own the bar, you don’t own any of these places so you can not just do as you please.
