March 16, 2022 – Purim is a Jewish religious festival commemorating when Jewish people were saved from Haman, an official of the Persian King. It is a joyous festival where friends and family, and the Jewish community gather to tradition through feasting, rejoicing, and exchanging food.
Purim is celebrated among Jews by: Exchanging gifts of food and drink, known as mishloach manot. Donating charity to the poor, known as mattanot la-evyonim. Eating a celebratory meal, known as se’udat Purim.
