Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston has announced it has been awarded a $200,000 grant from Houston Endowment Inc.

The grant is for general operating support for IM’s many programs including Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston, refugee resettlement and interfaith relations. It will also help launch IM’s Respect thy Neighbor efforts to build understanding and respect for Houston’s diverse community.

“Houston Endowment Inc. has supported IM for more than 20 years,” said Martin B. Cominsky, president & CEO of IM. “Its support has been instrumental in IM’s ability to grow the services we provide to the community’s homebound seniors, refugees and faith communities. We can’t thank them enough.”

Houston Endowment Inc. — a philanthropic foundation established by Jesse H. and Mary Gibbs Jones in 1937 — strives to improve the lives of people of greater Houston through its grants to nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. The foundation donates approximately $75 million each year to organizations that support and promote arts and culture, education, the environment, health and human services.
