AGRA: A mob of lawyers of Agra district court went on rampage and turn turtle several private vehicles parked outside court premises to protest against the alleged love marriage of couple who belong from two different religious communities.

The incident took place at around 2pm, when a man came to visit his lawyer to seek legal advice to marry his beloved, who is already married to someone else.

Identified as Anas, a resident of Soro Katra area in Shahganj had allegedly flee away with his beloved one month back and was putting up in Allahabad, after the family of woman filed an complaint against him at Shahganj police station.

On Monday, Anas came to meet his lawyer Naseem Qureshi in Agra district court, after Allahabad High Court rejected his plea to get married with a woman who is already married to someone else.

Source claimed, that Anas came to surrender in court, as he was booked by woman’s family of abducting her. But before he could surrender, the family of his beloved came to know about his presence in court and they rushed along with several right wing men to court.

With the help of group of lawyers, the family of woman attacked and assaulted Anas and shouted slogan of ‘Jai Sri Ram’.

The fierce mob also attacked lawyer Naseem Qureshi, who tried to save Anas by hiding him in his chamber.

 Considering the sensitivity of the matter, ASP Anurag Vats and CO Chhatta BP Singhwith over 50 policemen intervened and rescued Anas and his lawyer.

Anas was taken to police station under heavy police deployment, which infuriated lawyers and woman’s family members. The entire incident was captured in the cameras of media personnel who were there to cover the incident.

Source claimed, “The entire incident was staged by few media persons and right wing men who wanted to make issue out of the marriage of two people of different religious communities.”

By the time, this report was filed the lawyer and injured Anas were been given medical aid. An FIR was yet to be lodged against fierce mob of lawyers, who attacked the duo and damaged few vehicles.
